- Manivanh Vongsouvath graduated from the Lao Medical University in 1999 and in 2000 joined the staff of the Microbiology Laboratory, Mahosot Hospital. She was appointed deputy head of the Laboratory in 2007 and head of the Laboratory in 2017. She participated in the implementation of the conventional bacteriology testing and staff training to support the diagnosis service at Mahosot Hospital. - In 2008, became the Deputy Head of the virology team within LOMWRU and participated in the implementation of the virology team to support medical diagnosis and research on viral infections of public health importance in Lao PDR. The main topics of interest are infections of i) central nervous system, more specifically JEV and enteroviruses, ii) arboviruses including dengue, chikungunya and zika surveillance and iii) acute respiratory infections.
