Deputy Head of Bioanalysis, Clinical Pharmacology

Deputy Head of Bioanalysis Ratama Daduang joined MORU in 2025 as a Method Developer in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. She is currently responsible for leading bioanalytical method development and validation while supporting the technical and operational activities of the Bioanalysis team. In her role as Deputy Head of Bioanalysis, she provides scientific oversight of LC-MS/MS-based drug quantification studies and supports routine bioanalytical sample analysis through data review, assay troubleshooting, performance investigations, and ensuring data quality and compliance with international regulatory guidelines.

Ratama has a multidisciplinary research background spanning molecular microbiology, natural product discovery, bioanalytical sciences, and analytical chemistry. Her previous research focused on genome mining of microorganisms for the discovery of novel bioactive compounds, natural product isolation and characterization, and the application of advanced analytical techniques, including HPLC and LC-MS/MS. She has extensive experience in regulated bioanalysis, supporting pharmacokinetic and clinical studies through the development, validation, transfer, and implementation of quantitative analytical methods in accordance with international regulatory guidelines.

Her current research program focuses on the development and validation of robust, sensitive, and high-throughput LC-MS/MS methods for the quantification of drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers relevant to tropical disease research. Particular emphasis is placed on developing multi-analyte and combination-drug assays, improving analytical workflows, and expanding quantitative methodologies across diverse biological matrices, including plasma, whole blood, dried blood spots, and other clinical specimens. She is also interested in applying innovative analytical strategies to support therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacokinetic studies, and drug development for tropical and infectious diseases. Through these activities, Ratama aims to strengthen bioanalytical capabilities, support high-quality clinical research, and facilitate the development of evidence-based interventions for tropical and infectious diseases.
