MORU’s Mo Yin and MOCRU’s Myo Maung Maung Swe were awarded a prize by the NDM’s Graduate Studies Committee. Very competitive awards, the prizes are given annually to current or recently graduated students of NDM supervisors on the basis of their publication record, the impact and novelty of their research, references, and research within their department.

A DPhil Student in Ben Cooper’s Bacterial Resistance Analysis Group (BRAG) in MAEMOD, Mo Yin won the Year 3 Prize. In his nomination submission, Ben noted Mo Yin many achievements, her outstanding publication record and important contributions to COVID-19 response.

MOCRU MD/Researcher Dr Myo Maung Maung Swe was awarded the Public Engagement Prize, for his public theatre performance, Fever and Antibiotic Use, a Wellcome Public Engagement grant-funded MOCRU forum theatre project aiming to change antibiotic and medicine usage habits in local Yangon communities.
