Myanmar Oxford Clinical Research Unit

Htet Htet Aung received a Bachelor Degree in English Literature in 2016, and joined the Myanmar Oxford Clinical Research Unit (MOCRU) as a Clinical Research Assistant in 2017. Since then, she has been supporting all MOCRU research activities, from preparing both local and overseas ethics committee submissions, monitoring clinical trials and providing Good Clinical Practice and other study related training to study staff as required.

In 2018, she obtained a Global Health Bioethics Network Bursary Award to explore ethical challenges related to short course Tenofovir to prevent mother to child transmission of Hepatitis B in Myanmar.

Currently, she is doing a systematic review on ethical considerations around conducting placebo-controlled trials during pregnancy in low and middle income countries. With an interest in bioethics and social science, Htet Htet is also involved in social science and qualitative analysis of projects in MOCRU.
