Tianrat Piteekan

Research Scientist, Malaria Laboratory

Tianrat Piteekan has worked a Research Scientist in the Malaria laboratory at Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), Bangkok, Thailand since 2013.

Her research focus is on the erythrocytic stage development of Plasmodium falciparum in G6PD deficient red cells, malaria diagnosis and antimalarial drug susceptibility of Plasmodium spp. Tianrat works in close collaboration with MORU’s Clinical Therapeutics Unit (CTU) and Clinical Trials Support Group (CTSG), the Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU), IDDO/WWARN, and the Mahidol Vivax Research Unit (MVRU), as well as with the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford.

Tianrat is also an Area Safety Officer (ASO) for the Malaria Laboratory and quality assurance according to ISO 15189 and ISO 15190. She has been trained in advanced statistics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Clinical Practice (GCLP).
