South East Asia MORU began it's research into tropical infectious diseases in Thailand, but now works across much of th Greater Mekong Subregion. Having originally focused on Malaria research, our programme has now diversified to address a variety of neglected tropical infections (eg Ricketsial diseases and Meliodosis) that have a huge impact on populations living in rural areas throughout the Subregion and beyond. ![]()
South Asia MORU's work in South Asia largely focuses on malaria, but is now extending to look at other infectious diseases (eg Visceral leishmaniasis), and on addressing the challenges of appropriate use of medical care in resource-poor environments (eg improving the management of intensive care patients through specialist training of medical staff). ![]()
