Sayambhu’s background is in public health and community health systems. He also has experience in GIS mapping and field surveys. His current research focuses on malaria modelling on the Thai-Myanmar cross-border setting. He is interested in factors that vary spatially, and investigates the influence of population movement on malaria elimination and reintroduction. This project will improve our understanding of the impact of population movement on malaria transmission, a factor that is difficult to measure. The model will also be used to guide decision making for malaria elimination. Sayambhu is currently completing his PhD with Mahidol University.
