Prevention, Economics and Modelling
This new theme is the least developed, and aims to study the current methods of prevention and to predict their impact using modeling in endemic high-risk populations.
Current questions to be resolved are:
- What are the beneficial effects of miticides, antibiotic prophylaxis, rodent and vector control, treatment strategies and (hypothetical) vaccines in a highly endemic disease?
- How cost-effective are these?
- Can high-risk populations be identified with particularly high benefits using certain measures?
- What are the predictions to reduce disease incidence related to these measures?
