Peeradone Srichan’s research focuses on dengue fever and risk factors that can lead to outbreaks in urban settings such as Bangkok and other big cities. The project will use a multidisciplinary approach. First, in-depth qualitative interviews will be given to evaluate the current dengue spraying strategy. Second, population surveys will be undertaken to identify risks and better understand health seeking behaviours, awareness of dengue and participation in health prevention measures. Finally, mathematical modelling will be utilised to understand the disease epidemiology and optimize dengue outbreak control strategies. Peeradone is currently completing his PhD with Mahidol University.
