AQUAMAT paper shortlisted for BMJ Group Awards

The AQUAMAT Study Group’s landmark paper has been shortlisted for the Research Paper of the Year category at the British Medical Journal Group Awards 2011.

The AQUAMAT study showed that compared with the standard treatment of quinine, artesunate reduces mortality by around a quarter in children with severe falciparum malaria, demonstrating that a change of drug regimens could save approximately 100,000 lives per year.
